The Great National Tamasha

Oflate every median is flooded with only one thing... CRICKET CRICKET CRICKET!

There are criticisms of Indian cricketers... Right from photographs of our cricketers in new professions after their World Cup debacle to articles to debates as whether some ‘x’ should leave or ‘y’ should leave. Some started to criticize the coach; others started to criticize the system itself. To all this we need to say a BIG THANK YOU to the so called News channels... who hype every damn thing right from a robbery to murder to what not? Initially it used to be the INTERNET where it used to get popularized but now the so called News Channels virtually have taken over everybody and made it inevitable to ignore these things even for a minute

Frankly speaking am a big cricket fanatic, I still play the game, I still idolize but after seeing the way things are going oflate, it is rather very amusing the so called News Channels are still making money by asking different questions for the debacle of the Indian Cricket team from the World Cup and making the public to respond in the form of SMS.

What a joke? Why hype so much and why crib so much? The so called News Channels are cashing in when India performed well and now too they are cashing in when India lost. Ah! Is this a 'National Tamasha' that is been witnessed these days? Why are people taken for a ride time and again?

See the plight, just before the World Cup, one of the leading News Channel started to discuss about strategies with the so called experts every day as how India can win the World Cup against each team? I sometimes wonder, whether the Indian team management has so many strategies in place like the one that is discussed here. But unfortunately they never thought nor discussed the match against Bangladesh... maybe that is the reason why India looked pathetic against them and lost miserably. But jokes apart, Is this the way the News Channels need to approach a mega event like the World Cup? I doubt.

Yesterday there was another new hungama where the players and the coach started accusing each other for the World Cup debacle and our so called News Channels jumped with a new found optimism telling the viewers from the top of the world that 'this news was first broke on this Channel'. Oh my goodness, taking credit for some silly happenings in this passionate game of cricket? By doing so, the entire focus is now shifted on these new controversies that tend to evolve almost every day rather than the real reasons for this disastrous World Cup campaign we had. From the outset it looks like these News Channels are dictating the terms or for that matter already dictated, who knows, much before the crucial meeting of the Cricket board, which is suppose to happen in a day or two to discuss various issues that concerns Indian Cricket.

Also in this World Cup... one could very clearly see a big gap between Aussies and others? Let’s accept it. Aussies are playing one step above everybody. Indians need to do a miracle to reach there. In such a scenario, is it fair to hype our team so much and make the public believe that we can do wonders and all ‘just like that’?

Just take a break guys! Wish the News channels doesn't concentrate and talk too much about cricket and give the fanatic public a breather so that the ‘normal thought process’ can start working all over again.
